As part of our mission to help broadcasters and content publishers improve profitability, last year we announced Streamroot DNA’s compatibility with client, dynamic and server-side ad-insertion workflows, including VAST, VPAID and other standards, as well as popular SSAI services Amazon Media Tailor and Google DAI. Today we are proud to share our new compatibilities with Yospace and Ad Insertion Platform (AIP).
Broadcasters using SSAI with Amazon, Google, Yospace and AIP on web can now benefit from Streamroot’s advanced peer-to-peer video technology.
Ad Insertion Platform
DAI Connect, Ad Insertion Platform’s server-side dynamic ad insertion solution, enables monetization for OTT delivery on virtually any player or connected device. Designed to minimize integration efforts, this cloud-based service works as a plugin that can be easily integrated into existing platforms and enable server-side Dynamic Ad Insertion for all types of content and live streaming. In addition, DAI Connect cleverly bypasses ad blockers and enables monetization on virtually all devices, including SmartTVs and connected streaming devices like AppleTV or Roku.
Founded in 1999, Yospace specializes in server-side dynamic ad insertion for both live and on-demand streaming. Its core platform, yospaceCDS Advanced Streaming technology provides a user-addressable, frame accurate, seamless mid-roll experience that is consistent across web, streaming set-top boxes, tablets and mobile platforms. It offers advanced features for live streaming such as rights-driven program blackout, automated live-to-VOD asset creation, and time-shifted linear playback, as well as interesting functions for VoD, such as trick-play management, ad clickthrough, overlays and ad tracking.
Our team has collaboratively worked with the Yospace and AIP teams to make sure broadcasters using their services to monetize streams can benefit from Streamroot’s premium peer-to-peer video CDN technology, Streamroot DNA.
When enabled, Streamroot detects and distinguishes ads that are stitched at the server level, halting peer-to-peer delivery to allow personalized ads to be played directly from the server, and seamlessly resuming to peer network after the ad has been played. When multiple viewers are assigned to the same ad, Streamroot will enable peer-to-peer delivery for those personalized ad segments, ensuring maximum efficiency. Peer-to-peer delivery of personalized ad segments is now available for customers using AWS MediaTailor and Google DoubleClick, and will soon be available for Ad Insertion Platform and Yospace users.
How to set up Ad Segment detection?
SSAI detection can be set directly from the new Streamroot dashboard. Simply head to your Properties section under Settings. Choose to edit the property you’d like to enable SSAI detection for. Under Video Workflow Settings, choose your SSAI provider. Depending on your provider, there may be additional steps required – see more details in our documentation.
